Bus Stops and Pick-up Process

When you decide to join us on a guided bus tour, you can meet us at the tour's departure point at BSI or take advantage of our convenient pick-up service for a small additional charge.

Tours from Reykjavík depart from a well-connected public transport hub called “BSI”, a short distance from the city centre. (BSÍ stands for “Bifreiðastöð Íslands”, which translates as something like “automobile depot Iceland”, referring to the location’s history as a taxi station.)

You have several options for getting to BSI. A leisurely walk from downtown will take you between 10 and 20 minutes. If you prefer, public transport or HOP electric scooters are available, especially fun in the summer.

Walking can often be the most predictable choice, as it frees you from any concerns about traffic delays, bus schedules or scooter availability. Just remember to arrive at least 15 minutes before your tour is set to begin.

Some adventure tours depart from locations outside Reykjavík and are labelled "Meet on Location" tours. For these tours, the meeting point is specified in the booking process below the pickup list (but often even in the name of the tour ("From Skaftafell").

After you book, you'll receive detailed information about this meeting location via email.

For many of our tours that start from Reykjavík, we offer a pickup service for a small fee. However, this service doesn't ensure pickup right at your doorstep.

Due to Reykjavik's bustling tourism, there are policies restricting tour buses from accessing certain streets and areas. Instead, the city has established specific pickup points for tour buses that are strategically positioned close to downtown accommodations, ensuring you have only a brief walk (under 10 minutes) to start your journey.

And if you're located slightly away from the downtown's core, some hotels might permit us to greet you right at their entrance (more about this option in the “Direct Doorstep Pickups” section)

When booking, after you click "Book Now", a new booking window will open. Here, you'll see a breakdown of the tour(s) you've selected, their prices, and optional add-ons, such as a pickup service.

You have the option to select the ultimate meeting location of the tour, “BSÍ Bus Terminal - City Center,” for free or opt for a convenient pickup service or a small additional fee by selecting a pickup location from the provided list.

Many hotel names are accompanied by a bus stop number, indicating the nearest tour bus stops. Those without a bus stop number are Direct Doorstep Pickups.

Before finalising your booking, kindly double-check your pickup location and accommodation on the map to ensure a seamless journey.

Just a friendly reminder: Pick-up and departure times aren't the same! While departure time marks when our bus sets off on its adventure with everyone on board, your pick-up time is always set 30 minutes earlier.

This gives our bus ample time to gather all our wonderful guests from around the city. To ensure you're all set for the journey, please arrive at your pick-up spot 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time stated on your ticket.

Even if you chose a Direct Doorstep Pick-up, you must be ready outside the hotel and visible to the driver 30 minutes before departure.

Your bus could arrive anytime within that 30-minute window, so a touch of patience will ensure you're right on track for the adventure ahead.
