10.5 hours•Languages: English•Pickup available
Experience Iceland’s dramatic south coast and its iconic natural wonders on this unforgettable adventure. Travel from Reykjavík and journey through stunning landscapes, with memorable stops at some of Iceland’s most beloved waterfalls.
The highlight of your day is a guided glacier hike on Sólheimajökull Glacier. Walking on a glacier is the best way to experience the unique geology of Iceland—this isn't something you can do just anywhere! An expert, qualified guide will equip you with the appropriate gear (crampons, ice axe, harness, and helmet), deliver a safety briefing, and then lead you on your glacier walk.
Your guide will take you on an easy and informative journey across Sólheimajökull Glacier. Marvel at breathtaking ice formations and the mesmerizing interplay of volcanic and glacial landscapes as you explore this extraordinary region up close. You will safely view deep crevasses and water cauldrons and have plenty of photo opportunities. Additionally, your expert guide will share fascinating facts about the ever-changing landscapes of Icelandic glaciers, how they form, and how these icy giants are connected to the surrounding volcanoes and mountains.
This experience also includes opportunities to witness the legendary waterfalls of the south coast, such as Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, making for truly unforgettable sightseeing and photography moments. The iconic Skógafoss is one of the largest waterfalls in the country, standing 82 feet high and dropping nearly 200 feet! What makes Seljalandsfoss unique is the footpath that allows you to walk behind the falls—a memorable experience (but it can get a little wet, so bringing a waterproof jacket is recommended).
Throughout your adventure, knowledgeable guides will enrich your journey with insights into the geology, history, and natural phenomena that make Iceland so unique.
Designed to offer both relaxation and adventure, this tour includes comfortable transportation and all equipment for your glacier activity. You’ll enjoy the beauty and thrill of Iceland’s south coast in one seamless day—perfect for travelers seeking the best of adventure and sightseeing without worrying about the details.
